1. Tell us a story that sums up you - a story that is considered “very on brand.”

I once threw a funeral for the Old Taylor Swift because people for reals needed to mourn her death. (It was during the pre-"ME" era when the pain of "Look What You Made Me Do" was still fresh.) We watched a slideshow of moments from her life, shared eulogies of our favorite memories, and paid our respects. Plus we ate a lot of cupcakes. RIP Old Taylor

2. How in the world did you get here? What drove you to apply for Thirty Day Bae?

A couple years ago, I saw “Meet the Patels” and a few episodes of “Married at First Sight” and they somehow convinced me that arranged marriage was the way to go... I'm actually being serious. I tried to get an arranged boyfriend. Didn't work. But my thought was: What better way to figure out if you want to be in a relationship with someone than actually being in a relationship with them? So when I heard about Thirty Day Bae, I was pretty stoked and spent more time than I'd like to admit filling out the application.

3. What are you hoping to learn?

I'm hoping to learn what’s prevented me from being in committed relationships in the past. I have so many theories and I’m looking forward to feeling some of these out.

4. Thoughts on the relationship between compatibility, chemistry, and commitment?

Well, currently I’ve been thinking a lot about this article from Davi, our 30 Day Bae matchmaker herself. It’s helped me sort out my feelings on the relationship between compatibility, chemistry, and commitment. In the past, I've really just focused on finding someone that's compatible and I've felt like chemistry follows. Thing is, commitment doesn't always follow. It's frustrating because I feel like finding someone you're compatible with is so challenging that commitment should be the easy part. But it's not and there is no way to build a relationship when there's no commitment (even if you're super compatible and have crazy chemistry). I'm unsure if it works the other way around — if you can create chemistry and compatibility by choosing commitment. That's something Thirty Day Bae is figuring out.

 Let's do this.

1. Tell us a story that sums up you - a story that is considered “very on brand.”

The first time I kissed a girl I didn't realize the perfect thing to say as you go in for it is nothing. And as I went in for it I said, "here we go." I have since learned better things to say as I go in for a kiss. Like I'll eat some Skittles and then say, "taste the rainbow." Nobody on here knows me so in this first post I should probably clarify I love jokes and although that first one was true the second part was a joke.

2. How in the world did you get here? What drove you to apply for Thirty Day Bae?

I'm always down to try things that are a little uncomfortable and I'm always wanting to do things that will make my life a good story. Thirty Day Bae checks both of those boxes and on top of that I think it'll be a great learning experience. Plus I've realized the more single I am the better sports fan I am. For the last several months my love has been going to the Jazz and now that their season is over I figured I should give my love to a woman now.

3. What are you hoping to learn?

How to work things out in relationships instead of leaving at the first sign of difficulty or at the first feeling of "I don't feel like this is right."

Also I'm interested to see how much quicker I'm able to be comfortable with the girl I'm dating when I'm not worried about her leaving at the first hint of me being myself. It's scary to be vulnerable and yourself even after reading Brene Brown, it's still hard especially in a romantic relationship. But if I know they'll stick around after they see the real me then I think it'll be easier to be me.

4. Thoughts on the relationship between compatibility, chemistry, and commitment?

Obviously all three are important in a relationship but some of them might not be there right away and it might take a little time to find them. Of course in this case commitment will be there in abundance for at least 30 days. Which is great. Compatibility is a guess. Chemistry is just, "do you like this person more than a friend?" And Commitment is being willing to try everyday. I feel like we overcomplicate things a bit much at times.
