Jake and Emily. Day 18.

“It was weird. Good-weird. But weird.”

Jake

Tell us about today!

Emily worked until 8:00 tonight... Lame.  I offered to go get her food after work. She chose Nielsen's Frozen Custard.  In her defense, she thought there would be hamburgers there. There weren't. So she had ice cream for dinner.

We hung out at her place for a while.  We were both really tired. I started telling a story that should have taken like 20 seconds, but ended up taking 5 minutes because we couldn't stop laughing.  It wasn't even a funny story, not even remotely funny.

What did you learn about them? What did you learn about yourself?

Emily is a hard worker.  I mean she did work until 8:00. Also, Emily likes ice cream, who doesn't.

Emily sometimes laughs at things that aren't funny.

We had a brief discussion about our teenage acne woes. Fun times.

On a scale from 1-10 how would you rate your time together today?

Seven.

On a scale from 1-10 how positively do you feel about your relationship at this point?

Seven. I'm still unsure about the future of this relationship. I'm enjoying it now. Time will tell!

On a scale from 1-10 how would you rate your chemistry with him/her?

Seven.

Other thoughts?

I just realized we forgot to take pictures again... oops.  I think we should just get a picture of Nielsen's Frozen Custard off the internet and photoshop us in.  I hear Emily is one of the best ameture photoshoper's around.

Emily

Tell us about today!

I had an insane day at work. Nuts. So it was nice to get some encouraging little gifs throughout the day. I ended up working late and wasn’t able to go to FHE with him, so he offered to come over to bring me a treat. We got some ice-cream, then had a fun hangout at my house.

He told one of the most mundane, flat stories of all time. I can't fully express just how un-funny and mundane it was. But for whatever reason, we were crying and convulsing with laughter. Guess it was just that time of night. Lots of strange conversations tonight. It was weird. Good-weird. But weird.

What did you learn about them? What did you learn about yourself?

  • I learned he failed a hearing test as a kid because he had too much earwax buildup HAHA

  • He has a scar on his hand from a bozo dermatologist.

  • And another one on his stomach from something I can't remember. I want to say it was something manly. I know he has a mountain biking scar somewhere... think it's his leg or something though.

On a scale from 1-10 how would you rate your time together today?

Eight. Jake went into full-on boyfriend mode today in making sure my soul was happy.  I think he knew I was having a hard time yesterday... he went above and beyond and he made me feel great.

I’m finding he’s the type of guy who will patiently listen to the things I’m struggling with and will really try to understand even when I’m talking in circles and not really making sense. He doesn't take it personally or get defensive. He just wants to know how he can help. He seems to do this even if he's not sure of what he's feeling himself or if what I’m asking for is outside of his comfort zone. I am seriously so impressed with Jake and am glad he found his way into my life. He is a rare find.

On a scale from 1-10 how positively do you feel about your relationship at this point?
