Jake and Emily. Day 15.

“Relationship status: senior citizens.”

Jake

Tell us about today!

We went to the Old Spaghetti Factory for our TWO WEEK anniversary.  Ooooo... When I called to make reservations the lady asked if this was for a special occasion.  I was tempted to tell her it was our anniversary, but decided against it in the end. I had a gift card lying around that I probably got for Christmas 2 years ago.  Mom, if you are reading this, thanks. The food was great.

Afterwards we went back to Emily's house and talked for a while.

What did you learn about them? What did you learn about yourself?

Emily's mom once caught Emily lying on the floor in the dark with her lights off.  She was meditating. Her elementary school teacher taught her about meditation.

Emily once won a writing competition in elementary school.  She wrote about dolphins. It must have been beautiful.

Also, Emily used to make retainers out of paper clips when she was a kid.

Emily went and lived in D.C. for a year without her parents when she was 16, which is pretty nuts if you ask me.

On a scale from 1-10 how would you rate your time together today?

Seven. It was about as good as it usually is.

On a scale from 1-10 how positively do you feel about your relationship at this point?

Seven. I feel good.  I don't think either of us are head over heels for each other, but I think we both enjoy our time with each other.  It's still hard for me to imagine what would happen to this relationship if we weren't committed to each other.  I'm not going to think about it too much right now.

On a scale from 1-10 how would you rate your chemistry with him/her?

Seven.

Other thoughts?

Today is cookie monster day.  Happy birthday cookie monster.

Emily

Tell us about today!

Today is our two-week anniversary which calls for celebration! He picked me up and we headed to the Spaghetti Factory. I hadn't been there since winter formal in high school, and all the memories came flooding in. If only 16-year-old Emily could see me picking off Lumberjake’s plate…

Ordering our food was kind of a long process. We were both like, "Heyyyyy please order something I’m in the mood for. Because I'm going to want to eat your food in addition to mine." Relationship status: senior citizens.

We ended up making good food choices. As per usual, we talked about how weird this thing is. I don't think anyone quite gets it. This is a blind date that has now gone on now for 14 DAYS. But we keep coming back for more.

We went back to my house and chatted for a bit. He is FUNNY when he gets tired. Haha. Ahhh. Yup.

What did you learn about them? What did you learn about yourself?

When he was a kid, he thought about being a teacher when he grew up.

He entered an art contest as a kid and won a bike. He'll make sure to tell you this AFTER you brag about how you were awarded a plastic plaque from a state reflections contest. Whatever, Jake.

He talked about math in a borderline poetic way. I haven’t ever really been excited about math before tonight, but he just about had me sold. Just about.

On a scale from 1-10 how would you rate your time together today?

Seven. It was chill and pretty comfortable and an overall good night.

On a scale from 1-10 how positively do you feel about your relationship at this point?

Five. I think we're both pretty confused about whether or not this is going to be a thing. But, it seems were both becoming more comfortable in our discomfort? I don't *think* either one of us is in freak-out mode.

On a scale from 1-10 how would you rate your chemistry with him/her?

Seven.
