Meet John and Jane

Meet John

Tell us about yourself:

My name is John and I am 29.  I love mountain biking, traveling and golf.  I am currently studying for the GRE to go to graduate school.  I graduated from Brigham Young University and live in Salt Lake City.

What motivated you to apply?

I applied because I wanted to learn about myself and improve my future relationships.

What is wrong with dating today?

I think there are a lot of things wrong with dating today.  I think ghosting and being scared of commitment are some issues.  I think that those can be improved through good communication.

Meet Jane

Tell us about yourself:

I’m Jane and I’m 25. I love anything outside. Surfing, skiing, hiking, camping, fishing, climbing. Anything to get me outside and I'm happy. I also love taking photos. I'm always looking for new skills to learn and like to do things with my hands. Spending quality time with people is really important to me: it doesn't matter what we're doing as long as I am with people I love. People are super interesting to me and I just love hearing peoples’ stories, how they got where they, are and what makes them tick. I have a passion for life and finding a way to live it to its fullest! Oh and TRAVELING. That is a big one for me.

What motivated you to apply?

Well it'd be really good to gain an amazing relationship obviously, but I would really like to just gain a knowledge of how to date better and go about what I'm looking for in a relationship. I think this experience could provide the best opportunity to better my dating skills and be able to help those around me too, so maybe we could all get a better understanding and grip on dating. I would love to experience it along the journey and see how commitment could change your view of relationships and humans you're dating rather than just looking at outward factors and things you want or don't want in a partner.

What is wrong with dating today?

I think our generation has huge commitment issues, and I've always wondered about how commitment could affect relationships. We are always looking for the next best thing. This experiment would make people commit and see if that could foster something super great. Maybe we are all just missing out because we think it should be this magnetic draw to our partners.
